The Newport Beach Film Festival would like to take some time out to recognize the Japan Foundation for their steadfast support of the Japan Spotlight film Air Doll which screened at the 11th festival in Newport Beach. With such support the festival will continue to expand our focus on Japanese cinema in new and innovative ways.
Established by special legislation in Japanese Diet in 1972, the Japan Foundation is an independent administrative institution whose purpose is to promote international cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and countries abroad. The Japan Foundation provides a wide range of programs relating to the exchange of persons and support for Japanese studies and Japanese language instruction, exchanges in the arts, and assistance for media-related projects such as publications, translations, and film or video productions.
